Safe Communities

Committed to developing and implementing comprehensive strategy aimed at saving lives and preventing injuries on Louisiana roadways.

The LHSC's Safe Community program is currently established in five communities and follows the NHTSA model.

These programs are developed with a diverse membership representing law enforcement, educators, health professionals, emergency personnel, policy makers, parents, youth, community leaders, and safety advocates.

Each local group is responsible for assessing local data and developing researched based action plans for prominent traffic safety issues.
